Pop star Ariana Grande has confirmed she will be stepping back from the spotlight, amid growing concerns for the singer’s health.
Grande is currently on her Eternal Sunshine tour, which is due to wrap in London on September 1.
After that, the 33-year-old will be taking a “much-deserved break” after facing “on-going public scrutiny”.

“She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily,” a representative for Grande told People magazine.
“And then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.

“This tour has been a beautiful experience for her.
“She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”
The statement comes after fans expressed growing concern about Grande’s health and physical appearance, with speculation intensifying following the release of the music video for her latest single Petal.

While Grande has always had a petite frame, the new clip prompted concern from viewers, with the outfits highlighting what many described as her noticeably slimmer appearance.
More than 50,000 comments have been posted on YouTube, with many expressing concern for Grande’s health and questioning why those closest to her may not be recognising she might need help.
“It’s not about wanting the old Ariana back. It’s about wanting her to be healthy,” one person commented.
“The message within this video is clear. She feels like she will never be enough. No matter how perfect, thin, talented she is. I hope her environment could help her before it’s too late. Sending love,” another said.
Following the response to the video, Grande’s management responded to the public concern, confirming the singer will be taking a break after her tour.
Grande has previously addressed the ongoing scrutiny surrounding her appearance, calling unsolicited comments about people’s bodies “dangerous”.

Last year, the Grammy winner shared several clips on Instagram from a 2024 interview in which she spoke about how she copes with the constant commentary about her appearance.
One of the clips included the words “Friendly Reminder” as a text overlay.
“I’ve been a specimen in a Petri dish, really, since I was 16 or 17, you know?” Grande began in the footage.
“So I have heard it all. I heard every version of it, of what’s wrong with me.
“And then you fix it, and then it’s wrong for different reasons — from what you’re wearing, to your body, to your face, to your everything.
“I think that I’m really lucky to have the support system that I have, and to just know and trust that I’m beautiful, you know?”
Grande will also no longer appear in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, People magazine confirmed.
