K Annamalai, who resigned from BJP on Friday, received a rousing welcome from his supporters as he arrived at Chennai airport from Delhi. His resignation has triggered a mass exodus of several state unit leaders, including a vice president, along with micro-level leaders and party cadres, who are resigning to join the upcoming political movement. Although the party claims there is no loss, the departure of the prominent leader, who previously helped secure a double-digit vote share, marks a significant blow to its presence in the state.
