Ailin is as Aussie as it gets. The 17-year-old carries a burden that even the strongest of adults would struggle with.
Ailin is a refugee, sent to Nauru after fleeing Iran with her parents with their lives under threat when she was 3 years old.
She’s now in Australia – living a life in limbo. She may call Australia home, but it will never call her Australian.
A Current Affair’s Allison Langdon speaks with Ailin – who says she’s one of the forgotten kids of Nauru.
