For Cannes 2026, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has moved through three very different red-carpet moods. Styled by Mohit Rai, her wardrobe so far includes an electric-blue Amit Aggarwal gown, a blush Sophie Couture look and a white Cheney Chan tuxedo. Each look takes a different route into Cannes dressing, from handwork and colour to tailoring and texture.

For her first Cannes 2026 appearance, Rai Bachchan wore a custom blue Amit Aggarwal ensemble. “There’s a lot that goes into conceptualising a Cannes look,” says Rai. “We’re working with an extraordinary person at a platform that is a pinnacle of cinema, of fashion.” The fishtail silhouette, wave-like detailing and vivid blue hue gave the gown an oceanic quality. It flared out at the bottom with a train trailing behind her while a long, fluid scarf rested at her elbows.
At the centre of the gown was Aggarwal’s signature ‘Crystal Vein’ embroidery technique, developed over more than 1,500 hours of handwork. Thousands of crystalline embellishments were connected by lattice-like structures, creating illuminated lines across the body. At the shoulders, wing-like extensions inspired by biomimicry gave the gown its final architectural flourish.
