Adelaide weather forecast for Wednesday April 15th and the days ahead

Adelaide is set for a calm and mostly sunny run of autumn weather, with cool mornings, mild afternoons and only a slight chance of a shower late in the weekend before clearer skies return early next week.

Today starts with the chance of morning fog before a sunny afternoon and a top of 23 degrees. Light winds will keep things gentle across the metro area, and that settled feel continues into Thursday with another mostly sunny day and a similar maximum of 23 degrees. Winds will swing from north to northwesterly and then southwesterly through the day, but they are not expected to be particularly disruptive.

Friday brings a little more cloud, along with the chance of morning fog in Adelaide’s northern suburbs. Temperatures dip slightly, with a top of 22 degrees, while south to southeasterly winds build during the day and tend east to southeasterly into the evening. By Saturday, the city warms up again under sunny skies, reaching 26 degrees as northerly and then northeasterly winds return.

Sunday looks to be the most changeable day in the seven-day outlook. Adelaide is forecast to be partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower and a top of 25 degrees. Conditions settle again on Monday with partly cloudy skies, light winds and a cooler maximum of 23 degrees, before sunshine returns on Tuesday with temperatures climbing back to 26 degrees.

Boaties on metropolitan waters can also expect relatively benign conditions through to Saturday, with winds mostly light to moderate, seas below 1 metre and swell staying below 0.5 metres. That should make for fairly manageable conditions along the coast, though it is always worth checking the latest marine forecast before heading out.

Across the rest of South Australia, the pattern is similarly settled in many areas, though southern coastal districts will see a little more activity. On Wednesday, morning fog patches are expected in the south, with showers about the Lower South East and isolated showers possible along other southern coasts, while the north stays sunny. Thursday keeps isolated showers around southern coastal districts, becoming more frequent in the Lower South East as a cold front brushes the far southeast.

By Friday, isolated light showers are expected about the southern agricultural area before clearing during the evening, while isolated showers begin to develop in the far west. Saturday continues that western shift, with isolated showers in the west and warmer conditions there, while the east trends cooler. Rainfall totals through to the end of Saturday are expected to stay low in most places, with less than 2mm about the southern agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to local falls of 2 to 5mm about southern coasts and ranges and the Lower South East district. Isolated falls of 5 to 10mm are possible about the Lower South East.

Happy Wednesday!
