An Adelaide designer has added another major national accolade to his growing collection, taking home three awards at the 2026 KBDi Design Awards.
Interior and joinery designer Stefan Vignogna was named Australian Certified Designer of the Year for the first time, while also picking up two honours for a Norwood project.
The national title was awarded for Stefan’s Clayfield project in Queensland, designed from his Adelaide studio, while his Norwood project was named SA Kitchen Designer of the Year and took out the Kitchen Plus category.
It marks the second time Stefan has been crowned SA Kitchen Designer of the Year, following his 2022 win for a Wattle Park project.
That project went on to earn him the national Australian Kitchen Designer of the Year title in 2022, making this year’s awards another significant milestone for the Adelaide creative.

For Stefan, having two distinctly different projects recognised across two states reflects the philosophy behind his design work.
“Good design has to go further than how a space looks. I spend a lot of time thinking about how people will actually move through it, use it and live with it every day,” shared Stefan.
“To have both Norwood and Clayfield recognised is incredibly rewarding. They are very different projects, with different clients and requirements, so seeing both acknowledged at this level means a great deal.”

With more than a decade of experience across design, documentation and construction, Stefan’s approach centres around joinery.
Rather than treating joinery as something added towards the end of a project, the Adelaide designer uses it to help shape the entire interior, considering how a space will function and flow before refining its materials, form and finer details.
Working from his boutique Adelaide studio, Stefan takes on residential and commercial interiors, bespoke kitchens, bathrooms and joinery, collaborating with clients as well as architects, designers, builders, developers and makers.
And while his practice remains deliberately boutique, his work is increasingly reaching beyond South Australia.
His Australian Certified Designer of the Year win for the Clayfield project is a particular highlight, with the Queensland residence demonstrating how an Adelaide-based practice can make its mark on projects around the country.
The KBDi Design Awards celebrate excellence across Australia’s kitchen and bathroom design industry, bringing together designers and industry professionals from across the country.
