Duckens Nazon reaches 100 club career goals, 3 other Haitian forwards are closing in

Overview:

After Haitian national team star striker Duckens Nazon entered the 100-goal club career elite, three other Haitian strikers—including Frantzdy Pierrot, Ronaldo Damus and John Benchy Estama—are on notice and within reach.

Haiti’s chouchou pèp la — the people’s sweetheart — Duckens Nazon has recently reached a rare milestone, becoming one of the few Haitian soccer players to score 100 goals at the professional club level.

Nazon netted his 100th career club goal on Dec. 24, scoring for  Esteghlal FC against  Al-Muharraq SC in the AFC Champions League Two in Iran. The goal capped a prolific journey that has seen the 31-year-old score 100 times in 301 matches across 13 clubs in six countries.

Now playing for the Persian Gulf Pro League club Esteghlal, Nazon—a prolific scorer for Les Grenadiers—is already Haiti’s all-time leading scorer with 44 goals in 74 international appearances. His achievement underscores a productive era for Haitian forwards playing abroad. Three other Haitian strikers are now within striking distance of the 100-goal club milestone.

Frantzdy Pierrot: 91 goals

Nazon’s longtime strike partner with Les Grenadiers, Frantzdy Pierrot, is nine goals shy of the professional club mark. The Limbé native has scored 91 goals in 281 club appearances and could reach 100 in the coming months, health permitting.

Pierrot, 29, has missed six consecutive matches for Greek Super League club AEK Athens due to injury. Before moving to Greece, he played professionally in the United States, France and Israel. At the international level, he is Haiti’s second all-time leading scorer, among active players, with 33 goals in 47 appearances. Pierrot is just four goals behind legendary Emmanuel Sanon, who scored 37 goals in 65 appearances between 1970 and 1981, to move into second place among Les Grenadiers‘ all-time leading goal scorers.

Ronaldo Damus: 86 goals

Ronaldo Damus’s presence on this list may surprise some fans, given his limited role with the national team. The 26-year-old has scored 86 club goals in 201 matches but has yet to find the net in seven appearances for Haiti.

Damus burst onto the professional scene after beginning his career at Real Hope Football Academy in Cap-Haïtien before moving to the United States in 2019. That same year, he won the USL League One Golden Boot — a rare achievement for a Haitian player abroad.

Now with Birmingham Legion FC in the same league, Damus has scored 14 goals in 36 matches this season. He has not been called up to the national team since November 2024, amid criticism over missed chances in international play. Yet, he remains a prolific striker in club soccer.

Benchy Estama: 75 goals

John Benchy Estama rounds out the group in third place, with 75 goals in 122 professional club matches. The 31-year-old forward was the top scorer in Taiwan’s Football Premier League in 2019, finishing with 25 goals.

Estama began his career with Don Bosco FC  in Port-au-Prince and had a brief stint with Cibao FC in the Dominican Republic before moving to Taiwan in 2019. He has since played for four clubs there and currently suits up for Tainan City FC, scoring five goals in 13 matches this season.

Though he represented Haiti at the youth level, Estama opted to play for Chinese Taipei’s senior national team in 2024 after acquiring dual citizenship.

If their scoring form continues, Haiti could see three more players join Nazon in the 100-goal club by the end of 2026 — further evidence of the country’s growing footprint in global football and the steady rise of its attacking talent at club level.
