Star Hobart batter Tim David has left the field mid-innings after injuring a hamstring against the Perth Scorchers, barely more than a month out from the T20 World Cup.
David was in the midst of a whirlwind 42 from 28 as the visitors chased 151 for victory against Perth at Optus Stadium.
However, the power-hitting superstar was stopped in his tracks after pushing off for a single.

He slowed halfway down the wicket before completing the single, but instantly removed his glove and felt at his right hamstring.
Mac Wright got through the next delivery before David called for a physio.
After a very brief assessment, the Hurricane’s destroyer departed the field retired hurt with his side still needing more than 50 runs for victory.
It’s a major blow for the defending champions who have leaned on David heavily in recent seasons.
He’s in trouble here,” Aussie great Brett Lee said on Fox Cricket.
“He’s such a key player. They can’t afford to risk him. I know the game’s important but his longevity in this tournament is.”
The Hurricanes did go on to victory over the Scorchers in a final-over thriller, but they will be sweating on David’s health as the mid-point of the tournament rapidly approaches.
David is also set to play a vital role at February’s T20 World Cup in India, with the star possessing plenty of experience playing in the subcontinent.
