It is amazing how fallen leaves are helping feed over 1,200 students at IIT Bombay 🔥
With support from IIT Bombay-funded startup Infixen, nearly 2 tonnes of garden waste generated every day are being converted into fuel pellets that help power the kitchen at Hostel 16. This innovation has helped reduce LPG consumption by 60% while preparing meals for more than 1,200 students.
The same garden waste that once cost the institute nearly ₹50 lakh every year to transport away is now becoming a valuable energy resource. From discarded leaves to cooking fuel, IIT Bombay is turning waste into a sustainable solution. :green_heart:
