Adinath Kothare has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the physical and prosthetic transformation he underwent to portray two contrasting characters in Nayyi Navelli. The actor revealed that transitioning from Raja Awasthi, a wholesome family man, to Ravan, a character defined by pride, greed and tyranny, was one of the most challenging experiences of his career.

Directed by M. Balaji and produced by Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma, in association with Amazon MGM Studios, Nayyi Navelli features an ensemble cast led by Yami Gautam, alongside Adinath Kothare, Anurag Thakurrr, Sunita Rajwar, Suneel Shine, Susmita Mukherjee and Mita Vasisht. Blending fantasy and comedy, the film continues its theatrical run into its third week.
Taking to social media, Adinath shared a video documenting the transformation process, revealing that he underwent a four-hour daily routine for 20 days during the film’s 50-day shooting schedule. The process involved considerable physical effort and the work of several departments to bring the two characters to life.
Sharing the video, the actor wrote, “A glimpse into my 4-hour daily transformation routine for 20 out of our 50-day shoot schedule! Going from Raja Awasthi to Ravan has been the most challenging, painful, yet deeply rewarding experience of my career. It is incredibly rare for an actor to play two completely opposite ends of the spectrum in a single film: Raja, the ultimate green-flag family man, and Ravan, the epitome of pride, greed, and tyranny! This insane transformation truly took a village. A huge shoutout to the incredible teams who made it happen. The transformation required Adinath to portray two characters with contrasting appearances and personalities. While Raja Awasthi represents a caring family man, Ravan embodies pride, greed and tyranny. The shift called for physical preparation, prosthetic work and coordination between the makeup, costume and other production teams.
In his post, the actor acknowledged the contribution of the crew, his co-stars, director M. Balaji, producers Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma, and casting director Mukesh Chhabra. His note highlighted the collaborative effort behind the transformation and the support he received throughout the process.
