Hilary Duff teases she could take on iconic Aussie tradition during final shows

Hilary Duff has teased she could be gearing up to do a shoey during her Australian tour, with the pop star hinting Melbourne fans might be in for a surprise.

Duff, who is in Australia for her The Lucky Me tour, admitted she was familiar with the distinctly Australian tradition when asked if she would be willing to drink from a shoe.

The singer said she had three shows left on the tour, with her musical director, Jacob, deciding what drink or treat she would try on stage.

Duff is performing at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Monday and Tuesday before wrapping up the Australian leg in Perth on Thursday.

Both Melbourne shows are sold out.

The tour marks Duff’s first full-scale global headline run in almost two decades and follows the release of her sixth studio album, Luck… or Something in February.

The former Lizzie McGuire star also reflected on the response to her musical comeback, describing it as beyond her wildest dreams.

“I feel like we’ve met at the perfect time, which is almost the Lizzie McGuire effect, which was like people needed her at that time and it struck a chord and it struck a moment,” she said.
