Donald Trump says that Putin has been ‘fine’ on Ukraine and ‘hasn’t been doing much.’
As you hold your infant’s body,
Already cold to touch,
It good to know that Moscow’s man
Has not done all that much.
He’s had a rather quiet war
And means to do no harm;
Now his priority is peace
And not to cause alarm.
Of course there’s been some damage,
And perhaps a staged event;
Though civilians have suffered,
This was not his intent,
For he is a man of reason
Who’d like to make a deal.
The other guy’s the problem;
Let’s go and make him squeal.
From now on it’s the US first
And never mind the crimes;
Occupation and its carnage
Are facts of modern times.
So be nice to our ally,
For we will call him such,
And say, when faced with outrage:
‘He didn’t do that much’.
