A grand three-day destination wedding in Hungary that steeped in European charm and Indian vibrance!

Vasundhara Singh and Yash Malhotra’s three-day destination wedding in Budapest brought together Indian traditions, contemporary celebrations and the city’s distinctive European character. Conceptualised, planned and executed by FB Celebrations, the wedding was designed around understated luxury, with each event given its own identity while maintaining a cohesive experience across the celebrations.

“From the beginning, the idea was to create a wedding that felt luxurious yet effortless, with every celebration having its own personality,” share Farid Khan and Bhavnesh Sawhney of FB Celebrations.

The festivities began with an intimate Mehendi, where Vasundhara and her family spent a relaxed afternoon together. The evening brought guests together for ‘Budapest in Bloom’, a welcome celebration with a fresh floral-inspired setting. The decor was elegant and contemporary, creating a relaxed atmosphere for guests to meet and mingle.

The following afternoon, ‘Buda Bazar’ brought a more lively energy to the celebrations. The decor took cues from the idea of a bazaar, while ambient music and interactive entertainment kept guests engaged. A hand-pan artist, magician and juggler added to the informal, festive mood of the afternoon.

That evening, the wedding moved to the Royal Riding Hall for a more theatrical celebration. Vasundhara and Yash made their entrance from the grand staircase, followed by performances featuring stilt walkers, fire artists, unicyclists and mirror dancers. Family dance performances and a live set by Floor Jaxx continued the evening. The decor was designed to complement the scale of the historic venue while keeping the overall look polished and contemporary.

“The intention was to create celebrations that felt connected without making them look or feel the same. Each venue allowed us to explore a different mood while keeping the couple’s vision at the centre,” say Khan and Sawhney.

The final day began with the Sehrabandi ceremony before the Baraat took over the streets of Budapest. Starting at IDA by Danube and moving towards Várkert Bazaar, the procession featured dhol players, a DJ truck and Yash’s arrival in an elegant horse-drawn carriage. It was a lively celebration that brought Indian wedding traditions into the heart of the city.

At Várkert Bazaar, the celebrations continued in a setting that allowed Budapest’s architecture to take centre stage. The decor remained refined and understated, creating a backdrop for the wedding rituals without taking away from the character of the venue.

Across three days, FB Celebrations created a wedding that moved comfortably between intimate family moments, lively daytime festivities and large-scale evening celebrations. “The focus was always on creating a seamless guest experience, while allowing the traditions, entertainment and Budapest setting to come together naturally,” they add.
