CEC Row: Journalists Protest Detentions, Equipment Seizures In Delhi; Rajdeep Warns Of Intimidation

Journalists gathered at the Press Club of India to voice their protest against recent detentions, seizure of equipment, and obstruction of media personnel while performing their duties in Delhi. Speaking at the gathering, senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai expressed deep concern over the police targeting reporters and detaining them despite holding valid press cards. Sardesai noted that media professionals are being treated as suspects simply for asking politically inconvenient questions and reporting stories. He welcomed the Supreme Court’s intervention defending the right of journalists to report protests, remarking that obstructing reporters amounts to intimidation and crosses a clear Lakshman Rekha. India Today reporter Mousumi Singh highlighted that journalists will continue to stand up for their rights.
