Telangana Congress Lok Bhavan March: CEC Resignation Demanded Over Voter List Row

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, accompanied by CPI leaders and INDIA bloc members, staged a protest march from the Ambedkar statue towards Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad. Protesters demanded the resignation or removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities and voter deletion during the Special Intensive Revision process. Speaking during the demonstration, Congress leader Danam Nagender claimed around eighty-nine thousand voters were removed in his constituency alone, demanding action from the central government. Another party legislator argued that changes made to the Election Commission selection panel compromised impartiality, alleging manipulation in voter lists. Telangana Minister D. Sridhar Babu stated that the party was demonstrating to defend citizens’ voting rights alongside Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, highlighting complaints of fraudulent Form 7 submissions. Leaders reiterated their intention to petition the Governor to safeguard democratic rights.
