John Fury has launched an attack on his younger brother Peter after the trainer revealed he had spoken to Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury’s opponent in December’s blockbuster heavyweight fight.
The family row has added tension to the build-up to the long-awaited Fury-Joshua showdown, set for Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on December 11.
John accused Peter of betrayal for offering the Watford fighter advice, even though Peter said any help would come after the bout.
Peter, who trained Tyson from 2012 to 2017, said he had discussed Joshua’s skill set with him two months ago.
He added that he would be happy to help Joshua after the fight and praised his current team, including Team Usyk.
Joshua has described Peter as willing to help with training and approach, but said their conversation was not about Tyson.
He made clear the discussion concerned his own preparation, not a plan to expose his opponent’s weaknesses.
Peter says he has not joined Joshua’s camp and would offer any help only after their fight in Cardiff.

John, Tyson’s father, reacted angrily in an interview with Playbook Boxing.
He said he no longer speaks to Peter and would never do so again, before accusing him of acting disloyally if he gave Joshua secret sessions or advice specifically about Tyson.
John called his brother a “f***ing cockroach”.
Asked whether Joshua might have approached Peter himself, John remained sceptical.

“There is no smoke without fire,” he said.
He also addressed his son directly, warning him against being drawn into the family dispute.
The brothers’ relationship has been fractured for years amid disputes over money and the management of Tyson’s career.
Peter was in Tyson’s corner for the 2015 upset win over Wladimir Klitschko, a defining victory that helped propel the Gypsy King to heavyweight stardom. John was in prison for much of Peter’s spell training his son, serving four years of an 11-year sentence.
The latest dispute comes as Tyson and John remain estranged. John said earlier this year their relationship was “completely destroyed”, while he has also repeatedly urged Tyson to retire and put his health first.
Tyson has dismissed claims that Peter is working with Joshua, saying he remains family even if they are not close.

The trainer is not the only former Fury ally now linked with Joshua.
Ben Davison, who coached Tyson for five fights, including his 2018 draw with Deontay Wilder, has reunited with AJ.
Tyson has branded Davison a “traitor” after the move. He is now coached by SugarHill Steward.
The pair had been linked to a fight for years, with negotiations repeatedly stalling before the bout was confirmed last month. How the showdown pans out remains to be seen.
