In 2017, more than 500 Ganpati idols were found abandoned on a Mumbai beach. Today, there are just a few.
For the last 9 years, Beach Warrior Chinu Kwatra has led more than 2,000 clean-up drives, helping remove over 4,000 tonnes of waste from Mumbai’s beaches. Now, he has joined The Better India Civic Sense Revolution to take on another massive clean-up: removing 2,000 kg of waste from Dadar Beach a day after Ganpati Visarjan.
Because keeping our beaches clean cannot be a one-day effort. It starts with taking responsibility for what we leave behind. Civic sense is common sense.
