There are moments in business when the safest decision is also the least interesting one. Jordi Morral has rarely chosen the safe route.
His story began between two opposing forces. His father, an entrepreneur, taught him to dream without limits, take risks and believe that determination could make almost anything possible. His mother, a public school teacher, offered the counterweight: humility, discipline and the importance of keeping both feet firmly on the ground.
Between those two philosophies, Morral developed the mindset that would eventually define his approach to entrepreneurship and leadership. Ambitious enough to take the leap, but grounded enough to understand its consequences.
The Unconventional Road to Advertising
Morral did not enter advertising with a perfectly mapped career plan. In fact, his early journey was almost the opposite.
He began studying Biology, left after only a few months and eventually found himself working on a construction site. Then came another decision to return to university and pursue Advertising.
This time, something clicked.
Advertising brought together the elements that fascinated him most: creativity, business, psychology and human behaviour. During an internship at WPP, he discovered the media industry and found an environment where curiosity could become a career.
The industry offered constant learning, complex problems and the opportunity to work alongside people from different cultures and backgrounds. More than two decades later, that same curiosity remains one of his strongest professional drivers.
What Motorsport Taught Jordi Morral About Leadership
Before business became his primary arena, Morral had another demanding classroom: competitive motorsport.
Racing teaches lessons that rarely appear in management textbooks. Pressure arrives without warning. Decisions have to be made quickly. Losing focus can have immediate consequences.
For Morral, the track became an education in composure, concentration and decision-making. Those skills later transferred naturally into business, particularly when navigating uncertainty, competition and the pressure of leading an organisation.
It also reinforced something he had learned at home. Ambition matters, but discipline determines what happens after ambition takes you to the starting line.
Building Hexagon With His Wife and Business Partner
The defining chapter of Morral’s entrepreneurial journey began when he co-founded Hexagon alongside his wife and business partner.
Building a company is difficult. Building a company with the person with whom you are also building a family demands another level of trust.
For Morral, Hexagon represents more than a successful business venture. It represents the decision to take control of the future rather than simply participate in someone else’s vision.
Today, Hexagon Publicidad works with more than 20 clients and has achieved significant year-on-year growth since its launch. The agency’s progress demonstrates that independent businesses can compete successfully with much larger organisations when they combine expertise, relationships and a clear point of view.
For Morral, however, business growth is not measured only in revenue. It is also about building lasting client relationships, attracting talented professionals and creating an organisation capable of becoming stronger with every passing year.
The Leadership Philosophy Behind the Growth
Success has taught Morral something that failure could never have left out: humility matters more than status.
He has experienced setbacks, including periods when he had to return to the job market after believing he had everything figured out. Those experiences reshaped his perspective.
Instead of seeing setbacks as interruptions, he learned to treat them as education.
That philosophy informs the culture he wants to build at Hexagon. In an industry sometimes dominated by visibility and ego, Morral believes sustainable success comes from trust, collaboration and genuine expertise.
His approach is refreshingly human. Talent matters, but attitude matters more. Skills can be developed. Curiosity, commitment and the willingness to keep learning are harder to manufacture.
A Bigger Vision for Advertising and Business
Morral’s ambition extends beyond Hexagon’s current success.
He wants to contribute to an advertising industry that remains ambitious without losing its human side. He believes the strongest businesses are ultimately built on relationships and integrity rather than self-promotion.
His long-term vision is particularly revealing. He hopes to build a company capable of outliving its founders, creating an environment where talented people can develop professionally while retaining a sense of humanity.
That is a different definition of legacy.
For Jordi Morral, legacy is not about being remembered as the loudest person in the room. It is about creating something durable enough to continue creating opportunities after he is no longer leading it.
The lesson from his journey is equally powerful. There was no perfect plan. Biology became advertising. A construction site became a temporary chapter. Motorsport became a leadership classroom. A family partnership became a business.
And each unexpected turn became part of the story.
Today, as Hexagon continues to grow, Morral remains guided by the same principles that shaped him from the beginning: dream boldly, stay grounded, remain curious and never underestimate persistence.
Because sometimes the most successful career is not the one you planned. It is the one you had the courage to keep building when the plan changed.
