When devastating floods swept through Nepal’s Himalayan region, Captain Priya Adhikari kept flying into some of the most dangerous areas to help rescue people stranded by the disaster. 🚁❤️ She described the operation as one of the most challenging she has experienced, even more difficult to navigate than the 2015 Nepal earthquake because so much of the destruction was concentrated in a narrow valley.
The rescue missions meant repeated flights through difficult terrain, even as exhaustion began to take its toll. “Most of us are so exhausted because of all the flights we’ve been doing. We’ve been trained for this,” she said. But despite the danger and fatigue, Priya continued flying, helping bring hope to communities cut off by the floods.
Her courage is a reminder that heroes aren’t always found on the ground. Sometimes, they’re in the skies, flying toward danger when everyone else is trying to escape it. For her courage, dedication and sacrifice, we salute Captain Priya Adhikari. ❤️
