Adelaide United have signed young Australian prospects Mitchell Smith and Denver Minster on three-year scholarship contracts.

Both players earned their opportunities at the Reds following successful trial periods and will now form part of Head Coach Airton Andrioli’s wider first team squad.

Sydney-born striker Smith began his football journey with Mongo Football Club before moving to Spain, where he spent three seasons with Escuela de Fútbol Huesca and also gained experience in Sporting de Gijón’s youth setup.

The 19-year-old said Adelaide was the right environment to continue his development.

“I’m really excited to be joining Adelaide United. I feel like this is the right Club and the right environment for me to get my career moving in the direction I want it to go.

“I’m ready to work hard, keep developing and take my opportunity. I can’t wait for the season to get started and hopefully pull on the Reds shirt.”
