In case you haven’t heard — the Eagles have a complete squad. And I’m not talking about the fifty-three man unstoppable force that will unleash itself upon the NFL starting on September 13th. And they’ve only got less than two weeks to prepare.
But that’s not the squad that I’m talking about. Not quite.
Not long after the Eagles solidified their 2026 fifty-three man roster on Sunday evening — Philadelphia began signing seventeen players to the Practice Squad. Here’s a look at who will be giving this Super Bowl-bound roster everything that they can handle week in and week out at practice in South Philadelphia thus far.
Britain Covey and former 49ers 2022 Draft Pick Danny Gray are the only wide receivers on the Eagles Practice Squad. He re-joined the Eagles after a brief stint with the Rams. Covey has appeared in two Super Bowls with Philadelphia and has a ring from Super Bowl LIX.
Many thought that Carson Steele played well enough to secure a roster spot — but instead a combination of Saquon Barkey, Will Shipley, and Tank Bigsby will lead the Eagles rushing attack on Sundays. Dameon Pearce brings NFL experience to the Practice Squad as well. The Eagles also picked up former Cowboys 5th round 2025 selection and running back Jaydon Blue.
Both Center and Guard Jake Majors and Tackles Kiran Amegadjie and John Ojukwu are the only offensive linemen to-date on the Eagles Practice Squad.
On defense — the Eagles are fortunate that International Pathways Program Players Uar Bernard (Defensive Tackle) and Joshua Weru (Linebacker) did not get picked up by another NFL team after clearing waivers. Rookie linebackers Keyshawn James-Newby and Mason Reiger join Chance Campbell for a deep reserve at the position.
The rest of the 2026 Practice Squad signings are complete with Defensive Tackle Gabe Hall and Safeties Cole Wisniewski and Maximus Pulley. They also have cornerback Robert Longerbeam from Rutgers — who was selected by the Ravens in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The 2026 Eagles roster has plenty of talent and the Practice Squad?
It sure does too.
