Thailand Elected to Bowl Against India in DP World Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Clash

Thailand won the toss and elected to bowl first against India in their Group A match of the DP World Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

The decision gives Thailand an early opportunity to test India’s powerful batting line-up under the lights. Their bowlers will look for early movement and quick wickets before conditions potentially become easier for batting.

India, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will aim to build a strong foundation through their top order before accelerating during the second half of the innings. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma are expected to play important roles at the top, while India also possesses considerable depth through the middle order, with Pratika Rawal making her T20I debut.

Thailand enter the contest as underdogs but have developed into a competitive side in Asian women’s cricket. Stand-in captain Thipatcha Putthawong and her team will know that restricting India during the powerplay could be crucial to keeping the match within reach.

The Group A encounter is being played as a night match at the Dubai International Stadium, with play beginning at 6.30pm local time. India will bat first, while Thailand will begin their campaign with the ball.
