Grief Is Killing Me | Write Out Loud

Grief is killing me

It’s eating me up inside whole

Sucking the very life out of my soul

I can’t eat and I can’t sleep atall

Slowly I am climbing the walls

Grief is killing me

My heart it has to pieces broken

Time heals they say just words spoken

Grief is killing me

Life is a gift from heaven I am told

You live and thrive and get old

Three score and ten is what you get

Roll the dice your longevity is a bet

Here today and gone tomorrow

Merely a blink of joy and sorrow

Grief is killing me

I can’t even tell night from day

For a miracle should I pray

The pain it never really leaves

Putting on a brave face if you please

Grief is killing me

Days and years they truly fly

It seems like only yesterday you said

goodbye

Grief is killing me

As you approach the eleventh hour

You reflect as you wither like a flower

Did you give life your best shot

Was it all worth the pain or not

You only live once is what they say

Will you be reborn one fine day

Grief is killing me

What does the future have in store

Emotion overload can’t take much more

Life they say is just a fleeting dream

I fantasise about what might have been

Grief is killing me

Is it a painful cross that I have to bear

Feeling just empty is there anybody there

Grief is killing me

Grief is killing me

No escape as far as I can see

Can’t see the wood from the trees

Living a life of absolute misery

Grief is killing me
