Momo Hayashi will depart Brisbane Roar after two seasons with the club, bringing an end to her time in orange.
Hayashi joined the Roar ahead of the 2024/25 Ninja A-League campaign and quickly became a fan favourite, with her flair and fearlessness in midfield endearing her to supporters.
Her eye for the spectacular produced some of Brisbane’s most memorable moments over the past two seasons, while her performances earned her recognition among the competition’s best players.

Hayashi was named the Fans’ Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season.
aleagues.com.au understands the club did all they could in a bid to persuade Hayashi to remain in Queensland, however the Japanese midfielder expressed a desire to pursue a new challenge in her career, with the club respecting her decision.
Speaking on her departure, Hayashi said:
“Brisbane has been home for me, and this club and its fans will always have a piece of my heart.”
“I’ve given everything I have in this orange shirt, and I’ll never forget the moments we shared together.
To the fans who sang for me every week, thank you for your support over the years it has meant so much to me.”

Brisbane Roar thanked Hayashi for her contribution to the club and wished her every success in the next stage of her career.
Hayashi becomes the 10th player from last season’s squad depart and follows the likes of Dutch attacker Bente Jansen and Matildas icon Tameka Yallop out the door.
Following the exit of former head coach Alex Smith the Roar moved swiftly to appoint Johnathan Clemente as his successor ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 Ninja A-League campaign.
Furthermore, the Queenslanders have also recruited former Adelaide United captain Isabel Hodgson to bolster their defence ahead of the upcoming season.
The club has also been busy when it comes to re-signing some of their most promising young players including Australian internationals Grace Kuilamu and Sharn Freier as well as midfielder Zara Kruger and defender Josie Studer.
Brisbane will kick off their 2026/27 Ninja A-League campaign at home to Central Coast Mariners on the Saturday, October 17.
