Jose Mourinho stopped Pep Guardiola from appearing in his Netflix documentary, it has been claimed, with the feud between the two managers still as intense as ever.
MOURINHO has been released today, with the series providing an intense look at the current Real Madrid boss and his glittering career so far.
The documentary features interviews from a host of big names, ranging from old allies such as John Terry and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to enemies like Iker Casillas and Sir Alex Ferguson.
But one notable absentee is Guardiola, who has been Mourinho’s nemesis for the best part of two decades.
Their feud first exploded when Mourinho was at Inter, with Guardiola in the Barcelona dugout. Champions League ties in 2010 saw Mourinho come out on top, while also setting the scene for the epic rivalry that was to follow.
Things cranked up several notches in Spain, when Mourinho joined Real Madrid. El Clasico matches became war and it was abundantly clear that neither man could stand one another.
They also faced off in England, at Manchester United and Manchester City. Guardiola, as he did so frequently in Spain, came out on top that time around.
Fast-forward to now, however, and old wounds seemingly remain open.

Jon Pearlman, director of the documentary, has told The Telegraph that he wanted Guardiola to feature.
“I wanted Pep, who agreed, but on the condition that Jose asked him,” he said.
Pearlman, when asked for Mourinho’s response, then added: “‘Not a f*****g chance.’ It says everything about both characters.”
Pearlman also provides a fascinating insight into Mourinho. This is a man who, in his eyes, isn’t satisfied with his achievements in life. Both on and off the pitch.

“No, I don’t. I don’t think he knows what happiness is,” he continued when asked if Mourinho was ‘happy’.
“I don’t think he has any sense of satisfaction in any part of his life.
“I think he’s always looking back and never looking forwards.
“I don’t think his achievements amount to anything for him, which is really difficult to be around.
“I think that he’s created a life for himself of isolation, of intimidation, impenetrability.
“How can you be happy when that’s the case? A man who has no friends and no family around him.
“Maybe he’s happy in football? I’m sure he is now. But did we see a happy man over the last 2-and-a-half years? No, I don’t believe so.”
Meanwhile, Mourinho says in the documentary that he’s not finished in football yet.

Now back at Madrid, the 63-year-old wants titles. Retirement, certainly, isn’t on his radar.
“I cannot even imagine when I am going to stop my life in football,” he said when quizzed on retirement.
“I say 10 more years, but maybe more than 10. It’s fun. It was, it is and will always be fun.
“I want to win more titles. I want to win new titles. I want to repeat titles.
“I want to do it in places where I have never been.
“I want to do it in places where I did before.”
