Training camp is officially heating up for the Cleveland Browns, and the front office isn’t wasting any time reshaping the roster.
With the pads on and competition intensifying, Cleveland announced several moves Friday morning, including placing veteran offensive lineman Kendrick Green on injured reserve.
NBC Sports detailed the changes.
“Guard Kendrick Green has been placed on injured reserve, which means he’ll either spend the whole season on the list or get released with an injury settlement once he’s on track to return to action.”
Green appeared in just one game for Cleveland last season after previously playing 36 games with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans.
“The Browns also announced that they have signed offensive lineman Jack Conley and cornerback Jeadyn Lukus. Conley was on the practice squad in Cleveland last season and Lukus was waived by the Titans last weekend. Wide receiver Jamari Thrash and linebacker Reid Carrico were waived to round out the Friday morning moves for the Browns.”
None of these moves will necessarily transform the Browns’ outlook for the 2026 season, but this is exactly what training camp is about.
Once the pads come on, teams quickly begin identifying which players fit their plans and where additional depth may be necessary. Injuries also force front offices to react quickly, especially along the offensive line, where having reliable backups can become crucial over a 17-game season.
For Conley and Lukus, the opportunity is now theirs. They’ll have the remainder of training camp and the preseason to prove they deserve a place on Cleveland’s Week 1 roster.
