Hensly Dominique Jeanty, 32, is charged with murder and several firearm-related offenses.
A Dorchester man was taken into custody Wednesday in connection with the mid-July fatal shooting of another Dorchester man, police said.
Hensly Dominique Jeanty, 32, was arrested on a warrant out of Dorchester District Court, the Boston Police Department said in an announcement.
His arrest stems from an incident on July 15, when 29-year-old Breidy Martinez was found suffering from a gunshot wound shortly before noon near 15 York St. in Dorchester. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Jeanty is charged with murder, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and carrying a firearm without a license, police said.
Attorney information for Jeanty was not immediately available Wednesday night.
The shooting remains under investigation, police said. They asked anyone with information to contact BPD detectives at 617-343-4470.
