Two men allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded an arrow key from a U.S. Postal Service employee.
The Billerica Police Department is investigating an armed robbery in which an arrow key was taken from a U.S. Postal Service employee.
The robbery occurred at about 4:25 p.m. Thursday outside of the Postal Service sorting facility at 5 Brick Kiln Road, police said in a statement.
Two men in a four-door black Cadillac allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded the arrow key from the employee in the facility’s parking lot. The suspects then fled in the vehicle toward Chelmsford Street, police said.
Arrow keys are universal master keys used by mail carriers, giving them access to postal boxes, apartment mailbox panels, and other locked mail receptacles.
The investigation remains ongoing.
