Rory McIlroy is facing the prospect of playing over 27 holes of golf in one day after the Scottish Open was thrown into chaos.
Dense fog forced tee times to be pushed back, with several golfers not even completing the front nine.
A second wave of fog forced the claxons to be sounded, calling players off the course, with a lengthy Sunday now in store.
Third-round action is scheduled to begin at 7am on Sunday morning, with the fourth round starting no earlier than 10:15am.
Golfers will be playing in threesomes off of one tee.
Numerous players were nowhere near the clubhouse with Matt Fitzpatrick, who is tied for the lead, only through eight holes.
McIlroy, who was struggling at the Renaissance Club shooting three-over-par so far through the round, is also only through eight holes.
England’s Jordan Smith was about to tee off on eight as the claxon sounded, fortunately having another waggle of his driver before swinging, meaning he can return to the tee box on Sunday.

The weekend is without Scottie Scheffler, who missed the cut for the first time in 78 competitions.
Renaissance Club proved too tricky for the American, who was in pursuit of his first win in Scotland ahead of the Open Championship next week.
But after a two-over 72 in the second round, he exited the competition on level par, with the cut mark at two under.
The last time Scheffler missed a cut was in 2022 at the FedEx St Jude Championship.
Play had to be suspended twice due to fog

Speaking afterwards, Scheffler said: “It felt like nothing was going right. I didn’t really feel like I played that bad.
“This golf course can be just tough at times. There’s some humps and mounds out there.
“It’s a little different now with some of the signature events not having cuts. But I don’t think I finished outside of the top 20 or something like that many times this year.
“So I’m definitely proud of the consistency and wish I had a couple of days over the weekend to make up some ground.”

The world No1 did not confirm whether he will be back next year as he begins preparing for the final major of 2026.
He said: “This is a golf course I feel like I can play well on. I just haven’t for some reason. I think this is my second missed cut here.
“It’s funny. Last year, I got really frustrated on this golf course playing some good golf and just not really able to get anything going as well. Then I went and played well at The Open Championship.
“So it’s suiting me well over the years. I haven’t played well here, but I’ve played pretty well at The Open.
“I’ll reflect on that kind of at the end of the year and assess what my plans are going into next season.”
