What do you think the signers of that Declaration of Independence would say if they knew that some of our biggest headlines around the this weekend’s celebration of our nation is the love-life of our 23-year old All-Pro Cornerback (we’d have to explain what that is) and a former first-round selection that wants to come back to Philadelphia? (and we’d have to explain what the NBA is, too.)
Eagles Cornerback Cooper DeJean has some news. Of the sea of some 65 million single women in the United States (with many residing in the Philadelphia area) he has a new relationship. If you guessed that she works in the state of Texas, in Dallas, and for the Cowboys — then you are really savvy (or you have social media.) Eagles Cornerback Cooper DeJean is now dating Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Abby Summer? Yup, looks like it.
This week on DeJean’s Podcast with former Eagles Safety Reed Blankenship Exciting Mics — DeJean said that he believes that his relationship is not inappropriate with Abby— as she’s not in the Dallas Lockeroom. He’s got a good point — that would be a significant distraction for the rest of the 20–35 male demographic on the Cowboys roster trying to put on should pads while focusing on cheerleaders.
It’s sure going to make the Holiday Game in Texas interesting in November.
The last time that we saw Ben Simmons — he was finishing out the 2024–2025 season with the LA Clippers. Now thanks to a shirtless interview with Mens Health — we are hearing from him again while seeing more of him than we ever expected. Not only is he planning a comeback — and he’d love to come back to Philly.
And who could blame him — now that the 76ers are loading up with more talent than Chicago of the mid-1990s? But think about this — if the Sixers could find some way to land both Lebron James and Ben Simmons — then they would potentially start the 2026 season with six former NBA Picks on their roster.
So (if) the Sixers can get a former #1 Draft Selection back on the roster to join this star-studded cast? Absolutely, why not? And for the chance to win another championship and keep our All-Pro Defensive Back happy at the same time? Date all of the cheerleaders that you’d like, Cooper.
And how would we explain these stories to our Founding Fathers? Well — it is after all a long, unbelievably hot summer in Philly.
