The Delhi High Court has upheld the central government’s decision to temporarily block Telegram ahead of the NEET-UG retest on June 21. Rejecting the messaging platform’s plea, the court ruled that the government has the power to block access and that the temporary restriction, lasting until June 22, is proportionate and least restrictive. The decision was deemed necessary to protect the integrity of the examination process. During the hearing, the government described the platform as a new dark web used to conceal criminal identities. Multiple arrests have been made during investigations to ensure a secure exam.
