Seven men were arrested at a Boston hotel last week for allegedly being soliciting prostitution, as part of a police effort to identify sex trafficking groups during the World Cup, police said.
The men were arrested at 200 Stuart St., which is the address of the Revere Hotel in Bay Village, on Saturday as part of a police operation to curb sex trafficking networks during the FIFA World Cup, Boston police detailed in an incident report sent to Boston.com.
Police launched the investigation, officially named Operation Red Card, to identify those who advertise women and children on commercial sex websites, police said.
State Police went undercover throughout the investigation, an officer wrote.
On June 13, police arrested Angelo Furtado, 54-years, Darren Francisque, 24, Matthew Fitzpatrick, 26, Rev. Mahayaye-Vineetha Thero, 32, Sundararajan Vaidyanathan, 56, Timothy Sitorus, 42, and Yaseen Ahmad, 19, for their alleged roles in a prostitution ring, the Boston Police Department posted in a community alert.
All have been charged with sex for a fee in Central Boston Municipal Court, police said.
The Revere Hotel did not return a request for comment Monday evening.
No attorney information or phone numbers were listed in court databases as of Monday evening.
