Melbourne City duo Bryleeh Henry and Alexia Apostolakis are set to continue their careers overseas after the club confirmed the pair will depart following the expiration of their contracts.
The departures bring an end to successful spells at City for both players, who played key roles in one of the most dominant periods in the club’s Ninja A-League history.
Henry leaves City after four seasons at the club, having arrived ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. The versatile attacker made 84 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists while helping City secure three consecutive Premierships as well as the 2025-26 Championship.

The 22-year-old also featured prominently during both of City’s AFC Women’s Champions League campaigns and continued to earn selection for the Matildas throughout her time in Melbourne.
Meanwhile Apostolakis departs after two seasons at City following her arrival in 2024. The defender quickly established herself as a mainstay in the side, starting all but one match in her debut campaign before going on to make 56 appearances across all competitions.
The highly-rated young defender helped City collect three trophies during her time at the club and earned her first senior Matildas cap in 2025 after a series of impressive performances at both domestic and continental level.

Melbourne City Director of Football Michael Petrillo paid tribute to both players and their contributions to the club’s recent success.
“Bryleeh and Alexia have each made a significant impact during their time at Melbourne City and have played important roles in the success our Women’s program has enjoyed in recent seasons,” Petrillo said.
“Bryleeh arrived at the club as a young player and developed into a consistently reliable performer across multiple trophy-winning campaigns. Alexia made an immediate impression from the moment she arrived and quickly established herself as one of the competition’s leading young defenders.
“Both players have embraced the standards we expect at Melbourne City, represented the club exceptionally well and earned the opportunity to take the next step in their careers.”
Reflecting on her departure, Henry thanked the club after four memorable years in City blue.
“After four incredible years at City, the time has come for me to begin a new chapter,” she said.
“The memories, friendships and success we shared will stay with me for the rest of my career. While leaving is never easy, I do so with immense pride and gratitude for this amazing club.”

Apostolakis echoed those sentiments, describing her time at City as instrumental to her development.
“My time at Melbourne City has been incredibly special and has helped shape me both as a player and a person,” she said.
“The experiences I’ve had over the last two years, the success we shared as a team and the opportunity to represent the Matildas are memories I’ll always carry with me.”
The overseas destinations of both players are yet to be announced.
