Brad Scott Breaks Silence On Essendon Exit In Exclusive Appearance On The Agenda Setters
Outgoing Essendon Football Club coach Brad Scott will speak publicly for the first time tonight following his dramatic departure from the club, appearing live and exclusively on Seven’s The Agenda Setters.
The special edition of the football panel program will air tonight on 7mate and 7plus Sport, with Scott joining hosts Kane Cornes, Caroline Wilson, Luke Hodge and Dale Thomas to discuss the circumstances surrounding his exit from the Bombers.

The appearance follows confirmation earlier today from 7NEWS Chief Football Reporter Mitch Cleary that Scott and Essendon had officially parted ways after a disastrous start to the 2026 AFL season.
The departure comes after mounting pressure on the club following a run of just one win from its past 24 AFL matches, including a lengthy losing streak spanning the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
Reports surrounding the club suggest an emergency board meeting was held on Monday night before the decision was made to terminate Scott’s tenure despite him being contracted through until the end of 2027.
Current assistant coach Dean Solomon has since been appointed interim senior coach for the remainder of the season.
Former premiership captain Luke Hodge and ex-AFL player Dale Thomas round out the panel with insight from inside club environments and modern playing groups.
According to the network, Scott will answer the “hard-hitting questions” surrounding his departure during the live broadcast.

The program arrives at a significant moment for Essendon, with the club sitting at the bottom of the AFL ladder following a heavy loss to Richmond in Round 11.
The Agenda Setters featuring Brad Scott airs tonight, Tuesday 26 May, at 7.30pm on 7mate and 7plus Sport in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, with additional broadcasts at 11.00pm on Seven and 7plus Sport in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
