Socceroos Head Coach Tony Popovic has added eight more players to his pre-World Cup training camp in the USA, including Sydney FC midfielder Paul Okon-Engstler.
21-year-old Okon-Engstler will join up with the camp in Sarasota, Florida having recently played 90 minutes for Sydney FC during their Isuzu UTE A-League Grand Final defeat to Auckland FC.
Popovic has already utilised several Isuzu UTE A-League players in this pre-World Cup camp including Melbourne City trio Patrick Beach, Mathew Leckie and Aziz Behich, Western Sydney Wanderers forward Brandon Borrello and Melbourne Victory attacker Nishan Velupillay.

Meanwhile A-Leagues duo Anthony Cacerers and Mitch Duke (Macarthur Bulls) will both be returning to Australia following the raft of new arrivals into camp.
Also joining Okon-Engstler and the A-Leagues contingent in Florida will be Alessandro Circati (Parma), Lucas Herrington (Colorado Rapids), Awer Mabil (Castellon), Kye Rowles (DC United), Mat Ryan (Levante), Tete Yengi (Machida Zelvia, on loan from Livingston) and Kai Trewin (New York City).
The Socceroos will face tournament co-hosts Mexico in a friendly match at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Los Angeles on May 30 before then relocating to their training base in Oakland the following day.

Head Coach Popovic will then name his final 26-man squad for the tournament on June 1 ahead of the Socceroos’ final warm-up clash against Switzerland on June 6 in San Diego.
The Socceroos kick off their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign against Turkiye in Vancouver on June 13.
Popovic’s squad then travel north to Seattle where they’ll face tournament hosts USA on June 19 before rounding out their group stage campaign in San Francisco against Paraguay on June 25.
