Shabab Al Ahli and Sharjah Individual Sports Club took the main honours at the UAE Karate Federation Cup team kata event in Sharjah.
The championship was held on Saturday at Sharjah Club’s Al Hazanah Branch Hall, where 116 male and female athletes from seven clubs competed across six categories.
The event covered junior boys, junior girls, youth, young women, men and women for the 2025-2026 season.
Shabab Al Ahli finished with four of the six titles available. The club won the junior girls, young women and women’s team kata events, then added the junior boys title to complete a strong day.
Sharjah Individual Sports Club won the youth and men’s categories. The result also kept the club in front in both divisions during the current season.
The UAE Karate Federation said the men’s and women’s finals included kata with Bunkai, the analysis of kata movements and their combat applications. The format mirrors the style used in World Karate Championships team events.
The results gave both clubs a strong finish to the domestic team kata season. They also showed the depth of the field, with young athletes and senior competitors sharing the same stage in Sharjah.
The event was attended by Rashid Abdulmajeed Al Ali, First Vice President of the UAE Karate Federation, Vice President of the Asian Karate Federation, and Executive Board Member of the International Karate Federation.
