While Hull officials issue corrected versions, parking enforcement tied to the new permits will be paused, police said.
The one word a parking permit absolutely has to nail is “parking.” But for the South Shore town of Hull, that turned out to be the hardest part.
Hull officials are now issuing corrected versions of newly distributed restricted-parking permits after a resident noticed the permits misspelled the word “parking,” the Hull Police Department announced.
The mistake originated with the printing company, left unnamed, responsible for producing the sticker permits, the police department said in a statement.
A resident spotted the typo and alerted town officials, police said.
Once notified, Hull officials contacted the printing company to fix the error and begin producing corrected permits.
The revised permits are expected to ship in June. Until then, parking enforcement tied to the new permits will be paused, according to police.
Residents who have already received one of the typographically challenged permits can request a correct replacement free of charge.
“We appreciate the public bringing this to our attention, and we moved quickly to address the issue with the printing company,” Chief John Dunn said. “We thank residents for their patience and understanding while corrected permits are being produced.”
