Mourners gathered in Salem for funeral services for Kevin Trainor, a State Police trooper who was killed by a wrong-way driver in Lynnfield.

Funeral services for Trooper Kevin Trainor, the State Police trooper killed by a wrong-way driver in Lynnfield last week, were held Wednesday in Salem.
Trainor, 30, grew up in Salem and lived most recently in Georgetown, according to his obituary.
Officials have said Trainor was heading home after a shift when he responded to reports of a wrong-way driver on Route 1 in Lynnfield in the early morning hours of May 6. A car driven by Roslindale resident Hernan Marrero, 50, collided with Trainor’s cruiser, killing both men, the Essex County District Attorney said last week.
