Ambulance crash in Mattapan sends patient and 2 EMTs to hospital

Two EMTs were taken to hospital following the crash.

Three people were hospitalized after an ambulance and a car collided late Thursday night in Mattapan, authorities said. 

The collision occurred on Morton Street while a Boston Emergency Medical Services ambulance was transporting a patient to a hospital, a Boston EMS spokesperson told Boston.com.

Following the crash, the patient, as well as the two other Boston EMS EMTs, were taken to local hospitals for evaluation and care, the spokesperson said. 

“We are grateful to the responding police officers for their assistance at the scene,” the spokesperson added. 

Authorities did not immediately specify the current status of the individuals involved in the crash.
