The Cleveland Browns officially ruled linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah out for the 2026 season on Friday after placing him on the reserve/physically unable to perform list because of the neck injury he suffered during the 2024 campaign.
The move removes Owusu-Koramoah from Cleveland’s 90-man roster and makes him ineligible to return at any point during the 2026 season. He also spent the entire 2025 campaign on the PUP list while continuing rehabilitation from the injury.
Owusu-Koramoah was hurt during the Browns’ Oct. 27, 2024 game against the Baltimore Ravens after a collision with running back Derrick Henry. There is reportedly doubt about whether the 26-year-old will ever play again. Following the hit, he was immobilized on a backboard and transported to a hospital for further evaluation.
Before the injury, Owusu-Koramoah appeared in eight games during the 2024 season and recorded 54 tackles, two sacks, and one interception. Since entering the league in 2021, he has played 49 career games for Cleveland and produced more than 302 tackles, eight sacks, three interceptions, 17 passes defended, six forced fumbles, and 40 tackles for loss. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2023.
The former Notre Dame Fighting Irish standout entered the NFL after a decorated college career that included winning the Butkus Award, ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors, and unanimous All-American recognition in 2020.
The Browns selected Owusu-Koramoah in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 52nd overall pick. He later signed a three-year contract extension worth up to $39 million, including $25 million guaranteed, after initially agreeing to a four-year rookie deal valued at roughly $6.5 million.
Cleveland also announced that punter Nik Constantinou was designated as the team’s international player.
