The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a penalty against Hyderabad Kingsmen pacer Mohammad Ali for breaching the Pakistan Cricket League (PSL 11) Code of Conduct.
According to the board, the right-arm pacer violated Article 2.21 of the PSL Code of Conduct, which relates to “conduct that brings the game into disrepute.” As a result, the 33-year-old was fined 10 percent of his match fee for a Level 1 offense.
The incident took place during the 16th over of Islamabad United’s innings in PSL 11 Eliminator 2 against Hyderabad Kingsmen. Ali was involved in a heated verbal altercation with Mark Chapman during the match.
On-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Shahid Saikat intervened to separate the two players. The charge was later upheld by match referee Roshan Mahnama, who imposed the sanction.
The PCB confirmed that Ali pleaded guilty to the offense, eliminating the need for a formal hearing.
Despite the incident, Mohammad Ali has been one of the most consistent performers for the Kingsmen in the eight-team tournament. He has played a key role in helping the team qualify for the final in their debut PSL campaign.
The pacer has taken 17 wickets in 11 innings at an average of 20.05, placing him third among the leading wicket-takers in PSL 11. The list is currently led by Sufiyan Muqeem of Peshawar Zalmi, who has claimed 21 wickets in one fewer match.
