His arrival follows the recent exit of former boss Jeff Howard, who was moved on just weeks after the acquisition completed, and comes as integration of the two companies continues across its expanded footprint.
After a short stint on the SCA Board, Lund joins the role having spent nearly a decade as Group CEO of NRMA, with previous senior roles at Foxtel and with Seven, and several years as CEO of Yahoo!7.

Lund took to LinkedIn this afternoon sharing an update on his first day, writing:
“Today was my first official day as MD and CEO of SXL. The buzz of a newsroom was a great reminder about what we do. I have met so many talented people across publishing, radio, digital and TV.”
He said the return to the newsroom environment was a reminder of the pace and unpredictability of the industry, after time away from day to day media operations.
He now takes charge of a significantly expanded business spanning television, audio, digital and publishing, including the Seven Network and 7plus, alongside SCA’s Hit and Triple M radio networks and audio platform LiSTNR.
The role marks a return to frontline media leadership for Lund, who steps into a business still bedding down a major merger, with pressure to deliver scale, cut duplication and navigate a tight advertising market.
