What Is Comedy in the Sky?

Comedy in the Sky is a recurring event series that puts The Laughter Factory on the 50th floor of Palm Tower. The Laughter Factory has been running international stand-up shows in the UAE for close to three decades, having hosted names like Russell Peters, Michael McIntyre, and Sarah Millican throughout its history.

AURA Skypool sits suspended 200 metres above The Palm, holding the title of the world’s highest 360-degree infinity pool, with unobstructed views of the Dubai skyline, Palm Jumeirah, and the Arabian Gulf. Past Comedy in the Sky editions have consistently sold out, making early arrival the move for this one.

The Four Comedians Performing at Comedy in the Sky Dubai

Rory O’Hanlon headlines the night. The award-winning Irish comedian is a regular on Irish television, with credits on New Comedy Awards and Republic of Telly, and has shared the stage with Bill Burr. Critics have praised his pacing, with the Irish Times noting he clocks a punchline every 30 seconds.

Nicole Drinkwater makes her Laughter Factory debut. The British comedian and content creator has grown a following of 500,000 with her sharp, satirical take on modern life. Her ability to translate that online instinct into live performance has made her one of the more talked-about new names in UK comedy right now.

Ismail Abdi is UAE-born with Somali roots and a comedy career that has taken him from Kuala Lumpur to Somalia and back to the Gulf. He won two major Dubai comedy competitions in 2024, Beat the Gong and Colosseum of Laughs, and has performed at Abu Dhabi Comedy Week and the Dubai Comedy Festival. His Instagram account, @ismailcomic, has 347,000 followers.

Luca Cupani rounds out the night. The Italian-British comedian is the 2023 runner-up at the San Francisco Comedy Competition and a familiar face on Comedy Central Italia and Zelig, Italy’s most prominent comedy circuit.
