Top WR targets for Browns share local connections

The Cleveland Browns are in no position to draft players just because of their connections to the city, but through a stroke of good luck, there may be some players available to them with the sixth overall pick that can help the future of their franchise. One of Cleveland’s top positional targets at this year’s draft is at wide receiver, and the Browns have some options, according to Yahoo Sports Daily.

“I would say right now if I had to make a pick for the Browns at number six, in terms of one of the receivers, I would probably go with Carnell Tate. You’ve got the Ohio State story there, and that’s always something that the Browns love to do,” Mary Kay Cabot hypothesized. “But Jordyn Tyson, there’s also a local connection. His brother plays for the Cavs, and that would be a really, really good, feel-good story here as well.”

The overshadowed Tate had a great season at Ohio State as the No. 2 receiver behind Jeremiah Smith. He recorded 51 catches for 875 yards with nine touchdowns, but struggled over his final few games before the Buckeyes’ exit from the College Football Playoff. Nevertheless, the Browns would get a potential gamebreaker if they took Tate.

Tyson decided to stay at Arizona State for his senior season after compiling 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns in his senior season. The problem for Tyson is an extensive injury history, including a lingering hamstring injury that hampered him in 2025. By all accounts, those issues are behind him, but there are still concerns there for any teams looking at him.
