Seven unveils extensive ANZAC Day coverage from dawn to prime time
The Seven Network has confirmed a full day of commemorative programming for ANZAC Day 2026, beginning before sunrise and continuing into Sunday night with a documentary premiere, as Australians gather to honour service and sacrifice.
Coverage begins at 4.20am AEST on Saturday 25 April with Sunrise, hosted by Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington, broadcasting live from the dawn service at North Bondi RSL. The service, emceed by Mark Beretta, will be televised live nationally for the first time.

As daylight breaks, the program will cross to commemorations across Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Gallipoli and Villers-Bretonneux in France, alongside interviews with veterans, serving members and families.
Sunrise continues through the morning until 12.00pm AEST, with Michael Usher and Monique Wright joining the broadcast. The program will also feature musical performances from the Ten Tenors and live crosses to major two-up events.
Natalie Barr said:
“There’s something truly powerful about greeting ANZAC Day as the sun comes up over the ocean.
Being at Bondi, surrounded by veterans, families and the community, reminds us exactly why this day matters and how deeply it’s felt by Australians everywhere.”
Matt Shirvington added:
“ANZAC Day reminds us of the sacrifice that shaped our country, and honours those who protect the freedoms we enjoy.
To stand there among fellow Aussies paying their respects and to share that with you at home, it’s incredibly humbling.”
From midday, 7NEWS will take over with live coverage of the Gallipoli Dawn Service and the Villers-Bretonneux Dawn Service in France.
In the afternoon, the network will broadcast Lest We Forget: Harbour Sunset Tribute from the Sydney Opera House, featuring more than 100 performers from military, veteran and civilian backgrounds.

Sport also forms part of the day’s schedule, with the traditional AFL ANZAC Day match between Collingwood and Essendon. Seven will air the pre-game ceremony, including the moment of silence and motorcade at the MCG, before the match coverage begins.
A special 7NEWS bulletin at 6.00pm will round out the day’s commemorations and headlines.
Programming continues into Sunday 26 April, with the television premiere of Bravery & Betrayal, directed by Simon J. Heath. The documentary features interviews with SAS soldiers, former Prime Ministers, American Special Forces pilots, and families affected by war.
Simon J. Heath said:
“At its heart, Bravery & Betrayal is about truth, fairness and honour.
It is about ensuring that those who carried the burden of war are not left to carry the burden of silence.
Bravery & Betrayal became the largest independent Australian cinema documentary last year because everyday Australians believed these veterans deserved to have their voices heard.”
