Durab Khalil is a new entrant in limelight. He became a big name after a hit role as Hazrat in Main Manto Nahi Hoon. The actor has been giving some big dramas and he has been able to impress everyone with his strong presence. He is the son of the most successful writer in Pakistan aka Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and his father remains in the news for one thing or another. He was a guest on Something Haute and spoke candidly about dealing with his father’s controversies.
Durab Khalil revealed that his father has never really made any calls for him. His father said that if he has to make calls for him then he has no talent and he should just leave this business. He actually wanted to be a filmmaker and it took him 7 years to reach Humayun Saeed to ask for a series opportunity. Humayun did not have any such opportunities and asked him to star as Hazrat and that is how he landed Main Manto Nahi Hoon. He added that nepotism is not something that helped him and he has worked hard for years to reach this position.

Durab Khalil also directly answered question about his father’s controversies. He said that he knows how his father is a great writer but he says things that other people do not agree with. He acknowledges opposing point of views and he is glad that no one discriminated against him due to his father. The actor added that he never speaks to his father about his controversies. His father is a different man at home and it is not his place to tell him how to manage his work life.
