From Down Syndrome to Dhurandhar Actor at 15

When Ahida was born, the world was quick to give her a label: Down Syndrome.

But Ahida was already discovering something far more important — what she could do.

She found her rhythm through dance and theatre, and the stage soon became her safe space. It was here, under the lights and in front of an audience, that she began to express herself with ease and confidence.

Impressing audiences with her effortless presence, Ahida went on to become a part of major plays like Ramayana, along with several short films.

There were doubts, of course. Questions about what she could or could not achieve followed her early on. But at home, there was unwavering belief. Her parents became her strength, constantly encouraging her to dream bigger and push further.

Their support helped her carve her own path — one step at a time.

In 2022, she was recognised on a national stage, winning the Miss India (Down Syndrome) Runner-Up title. It was a moment that reflected not just her talent, but her growing confidence and presence.

Soon after, one of her videos reached a casting director. What followed was an audition — and then an opportunity that would take her even further.

At just 15, Ahida stepped into the role of Major Iqbal’s daughter in Dhurandhar.

Sharing screen space with actors like Arjun Rampal, she held her own, captivating audiences with her calm and natural presence on screen.

“For every child told ‘maybe not you’ — Ahida became the answer.”

For her family, watching her journey unfold has been nothing short of extraordinary.

“She is a queen. It was magical to see her in one of the biggest, most talked-about films,” her mother says.

But for Ahida, this is only the beginning.
