They allege the man had offered to pay money for the material.
The report was investigated by detectives from NSW Police’s Sex Crimes Squad, who arrested a man at a home in Beecroft, northwest Sydney, about 5.45am on Thursday.
He was filmed being loaded into the back of a police vehicle before being taken to Gladesville Police Station.
Police charged him with use of a carriage service to groom a woman aged under 16 years old for sex and to access child abuse material.
He was refused bail and is expected to appear before Burwood Local Court on Thursday.
