Here’s the tea Adelaide – international brand, Molly Tea, is making its way to the festival state and there’s no shortage of excitement buzzing around.

Molly Tea is a rapidly growing popular tea brand from China, best known for its high end jasmine tea drinks. The new South Australia venue, will be there first here in Adelaide and the viral brand has set its sight on a location in Chinatown near Gouger Street.

For those not completely in the know yet, Molly Tea has quickly gained a cult following for its variety of premium Chinese teas, specifically focusing on all things Jasmine. This is actually where the name itself was born as jasmine flower in Chinese is 茉莉花, pronounced Mòlìhuā. Picking up what we’re putting down here?

If we’re following the popular, trendsetting menu then Adelaide is in for a few sweet treats, and we’ve got a list of must try options.

We’ll start with the matcha (but with an all new upgrade) their white champaca matcha and premium jasmine matcha are made with carefully selected matcha powder and rich Anchor cream, prepared fresh into a dense, silky matcha cheese. Both are finished differently, the latter with jasmine notes and former soft orchid.

They’ve also taken coconut water and made it their own, with a pistachio twist, featuring pistachio jasmine coconut and pistachio white champaca coconut. Like the matcha they have different notes to finish but both combine coconut water with pistachio cheese, to deliver a sweet coconut aroma and a subtle tea flavour.

The real hero of the menu seems to be their snowy whipped cream range, featuring multiple tea flavours from jasmine and peach to gardenia and DanCong Oolong. All drinks in the range have a mountain of their signature jasmine whipped cream swirled on top.

Molly tea first made its way to Australia in 2024, in Sydney’s Haymarket area, and after the successful debut they opened two more Sydney locations before bringing their brews to Melbourne in 2025. Now South Australian’s have a reason to be waiting for their own debut, with the works of a new store popping up near the Central Market entrance.

Rooted in Eastern cultural heritage, Molly tea introduces a distinctively modern aesthetic for the culture, from a contemporary perspective. It draws itself away from the visual style of traditional Chinese tea, and expresses itself as a redefined tea, becoming a trendsetter favourite among younger tea-drinkers.

Molly Tea was founded in Shenzhen, taking its inspiration from the jasmine flower, exploring locally-sourced floral and fruity tea aromas from around the world.

Although no offical opening date has been announced keep an eye on their socials for updates.
