As the global fashion calendar turns to Milan Fashion Week for the Autumn Winter 26 season (running from 24 February until 2 March 2026) – Italy’s fashion capital has transformed yet again into a vibrant street style spectacle that often rivals the runways themselves. Now that we’re on Day Two – we’re seeing invitees head to Prada, Emporio Armani and Marni (and bracing through the winter chill).
Milanese streets during Fashion Week are a masterclass in layered cool-weather dressing. Expect sleek tailored trench coats, chunky leather biker boots, rich knitwear, and statement outerwear that combine utility with edge. Given the weather, it’s little surprise that the industry locals and visitors alike have leaned into a neutral palette – think camel, charcoal, and cream – punctuated by luxe textures like shearling and cashmere. Accessories, though, have been bold: silk scarves billowing from waists, brightly coloured bags, and statement scarves complete looks that feel at once effortless and impeccably put-together.
Weather in Milan at this time of year tends toward classic late-winter chill: daytime highs around 9–11 °C with lows near 1–3 °C. Of course, before, between and after shows, attendees have opted for and amplified the importance of stylish outerwear, making puffer coats, layered knits, and statement scarves essentials.
This season’s official schedule features marquee names from both Italian heritage houses and global trendsetters. Heavyweights such as Prada, Ferragamo, Marni, and Bottega Veneta are slated to unveil their Autumn Winter collections, while standout designer debuts – including Demna’s anticipated first full runway collection for Gucci and Maria Grazia Chiuri’s re-arrival at Fendi – have already captured our attention.
Beyond the main runways, the city’s cobblestone streets, cafés, and transit hubs become impromptu catwalks as fashion editors, influencers and models-off-duty like Stella Hanan and Paloma Elsesser bring their own off-duty style to Milan’s winter backdrop.
